In 1995, Jha founded an NGO, Prantiya Prawasi Evam Dalit Vikas Manch that was working for migrant dalits in Delhi. His NGO is working at pan India level in same domain since 2011. The key issues addressed are Health, Respect, Education, Employment, Security and Residential rights.

Gopal Jha started his political career in 1994 as a social worker and worked for the welfare of migrants. His prime concern was to fight the injustice which they had to endure in Delhi, India.In December, 1994 Jha was elected in Samta Party, Delhi as State Youth President.

Gopal Jha was born in a middle-class family in Deoghar District in the Santhal Parganas division of the state of Jharkhand, India on January 4, 1969.His father Late Mr Chandra Nath Jha, a farmer, and mother Ambika Jha, a homemaker, supported his dreams of pursuing philanthropy and human rights for underprivileged sections of the society.
